The Fire Museum uses volunteers (age 18 and older) in all areas of its operation, from tour guides to school programs and senior citizens groups, to working in the Museum shop, assisting the Director with Development and Fund Raising Activities, to assisting the Curator and Registrar with collections related activities.
Come join the volunteers of the Fire Museum of Maryland and be a part of fire history. Volunteers are needed throughout the year to assist with moving of apparatus and collections, cleaning and cataloguing and working with curatorial staff during construction.

The Fire Museum of Maryland offers a limited number of internships each year for those enrolled in graduate-level museum studies or education programs. The Museum will work with the student's school to provide a good grounding in the operations and administration of a non-profit museum organization.
Interns are assigned directly to a specific staff member who serves as the intern's supervisor and mentor for the duration of the internship. Internship positions are available throughout the year, depending on school requirements and the Museum's needs.
If you wish to explore a potential internship, please email or send a letter of inquiry, stating your school's requirements for the internship, hours needed and time frame, along with your resume to info@firemuseummd.org.
