Janitor (One day per week)
Hourly Pay $12.50
We are currently seeking an energetic and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Janitor. The ideal candidate for this position is detail-oriented, flexible, and willing to take on non-routine cleaning and special projects as the need arises. The Janitor will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing offices, meeting rooms, bathrooms, kitchenette, and public areas. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual looking to pick up a little extra money one day a week.
Responsibilities and duties:
This position is our frontline for cleaning and sanitization at the museum. Light building maintenance will be required. This position reports to the Museum Curator.
Perform general cleanup of all areas of the building as directed
Manage routine upkeep of exterior areas, green space (including weeding and grass cutting) and parking lot
Complete non-routine cleaning according to specified job orders
Ensure restrooms are maintained and fully equipped
Perform light building and grounds maintenance as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and skills:
2+ year’s janitorial experience
High school diploma/GED required
A flexible Schedule and strong time management desired.
Ability to work well under minimal supervision and with others
Capacity to take direction and strong attention to detail.
Able to communicate through verbal, email, and writing effectively.
Physically capable of lifting and moving objects up to 60 pounds as necessary
Physically capable of standing, walking, bending, stooping, and crawling as necessary.
The applicant should be comfortable with ladders, heights, electric lifts, and small/tight places.
