Birthday Parties at the Fire Museum

There is one thing we never get tired of seeing here at The Fire Museum of Maryland, and that is watching kids’ jaws drop when they walk through our front door. “Awesome!” they shout, when they see our more-than 40 pieces of gleaming fire equipment.

We know for certain that little hearts beat faster at the sight of a fire engine. That’s probably why parties at The Fire Museum are such a perfect fit for birthday girls and boys. We hold parties Saturdays and Sundays year round, with other days by request. Our party package includes a private, decorated party room for up to 35 children and adults (We don’t count infants). The party room includes four, 6-foot long tables, covered in red vinyl tablecloths, chairs, and a fridge. This is where the party goers enjoy their pizza, cake, and ice cream.

In addition to the private party room, kids enjoy unlimited use of our Discovery Room, where party goers get to try on pint-sized turnout gear and climb on a real 1938 Mack fire engine. Parents relax as the kids have a great time engaging in active, old-fashioned fun.

Many families ask us how the parties work. Here’s the scoop: Families arrive a half hour in advance. We provide a cart for them to carry their paper plates, napkins, utensils, the candles, the cake, and party favors back to the private party room. Most families order pizza delivery for the party and we have a great relationship with a pizza parlor right around the corner. Parents often also bring in fruit platters, chips, and sandwiches – really whatever they like (though there’s no cooking allowed). We provide a refrigerator to keep treats cold until serving. Our party room is festive on its own, but families are welcome to bring in balloons, centerpieces, or other decorations.

We offer two exciting party add-ons: a ride on a Fire Engine or a Visit with a Firefighter.

Parents can also stop in our gift shop, where we have a nice selection of fire-themed paper goods and party favors. The big box stores don’t carry these supplies, and our prices are lower than online. It’s no surprise that children love The Fire Museum. But to let you into a secret: more than a few adults find their hearts beating a little faster when they are here as well.

Parties at The Fire Museum are not only a treat for the kids, but also a fun outing for parents, who appreciate a change of pace from the ‘kiddie’ venues. (You know the ones we mean.)
